Courtney Backes LMT she/her
Courtney’s journey to bodywork has been intense, winding, and deeply rewarding. She became intimate with subtle bodywork while recovering from chronic pain and fatigue along with multiple chemical sensitivities in 2014. Accessing the resources innate to nature, she discovered the true richness of present-moment witnessing and found hope in our bodies' capacity to heal. She is passionate about sharing therapeutic space with anyone seeking embodied transformation in a supportive container of mutual respect and personal regard.
Courtney uses somatic, trauma-informed approaches to support your capacity to self-heal. Her training includes Craniosacral Therapy, Thai Massage, Reiki 1 & 2, as well as Myofascial Release and Unwinding. She incorporates soft tissue work as needed and will work with you to provide the feedback needed to release tensions and experience lasting relief. Her sessions are collaborative, methodical, and intuitive in nature. She looks forward to working with others in new and varied ways as well as building a solid container of therapeutic treatment.
In her spare time, you will find Courtney studying new concepts of healing and interconnection as well as spending time in nature, dancing, singing, or writing poetry. She lives with her tuxedo cat Toby in their tiny house in Portland.
